DO I NEED A COLLEGE DEGREE TO DO THE INTERNSHIP?

No. It is certainly not required if you are otherwise a good fit for the program.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Over the course of the year, you will be exposed to the overall vision and inter-workings of Harvest Church, get experience in a specific ministry area, participate in intern discussions on various theological, biblical and ministry topics, and be poured into by Harvest staff and leaders. You will also have a host family in the church to invest in you and help you thrive during the year.

You will also study the whole Bible through the Downline Institute. In addition, you’ll soak up biblical teaching on real-world topics such as dating, marriage, conflict resolution, financial stewardship, spiritual gifts, and discovering God’s calling for your life. You will also have the opportunity to choose between four ministry tracks to receive individualized curriculum based on particular interest or calling such as ministry in the marketplace, vocational ministry,  church planting and global missions.

DO I NEED TO GET ANOTHER JOB?

Interns are required to work approximately 30 hours per week in their individual ministry area and other intern responsibilities. You do not need to get another job outside of this, however, you are welcome to if it does not interfere with intern events or responsibilities. The goal is not to delay careers, but to grow spiritually and still fulfill financial responsibilities.

WHERE WILL I LIVE?

The interns will live together in apartments at a complex across the street from Harvest.  This will make it extremely convenient to be present at the church and also build community amongst the interns. The apartments are furnished with the basics-- beds, dressers, tables, chairs, couches, etc.

CAN INTERNS RECEIVE SEMINARY CREDIT?

Yes. We offer seminary credit (through the Downline Institute) to Dallas Theological Seminary and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Typically you will be able to get credit for Old and New Testament classes.
