My Story

I was born in Willingboro NJ but raised much of my life in Texas. Spending many of my early years in the south and summers on the east coast quickly dismantled any recognizable accent. Like many living in the Bible belt culture I was exposed to church but often absent of a true relationship with Christ. Relocating from Austin to Memphis in 1996 would put me face to face with the Savior and my own sinfulness. On the campus of LeMoyne-Owen College after many sovereign events by God, I submitted to Jesus and the call to ministry.

Several men intentionally helped develop my character, love for people and love for the Word of God. The first is one I affectionately call my spiritual father Dr. Kenneth Robinson, the second Nevlynn Johnson, father Dr. Charles Joplin, uncle Pastor Lionel Pointer Jr., and lastly mentor Vince Gordon.

After entering ministry full-time as an ordained minister I served on staff for non-profits and churches. These include organizations such as Young Life (Memphis, TN), Hearts and Homes for Youth (Gaithersburg, MD), Community Support Service (Rockville, MD), Round Oak Missionary Baptist Church (Silver Spring, MD), Saint Andrew African Methodist Episcopal Church (Memphis, TN), and Agape Child & Family Services (Memphis, TN). I received a Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministry from the former Crichton College/Victory University and currently pursing a Master of Christian Studies at Union University. I have a passion for Christ centered preaching and teaching with an emphasis in the restoration of the whole person.

I am married to Larren who serves on the Streets Ministries staff as their Education Coordinator and we have one daughter, Renee. Many people ask us what led our family to join Harvest. I simply share with them the core values of Harvest were similar to those in my heart and the DNA of Delivering Word Bible Church. This is the church plant God has allowed me to lead.

Please feel free to contact me to hear more about our story.

My Hope for Harvest

My hope for Harvest Church is that we would love like Christ as we make disciples alongside other disciple makers throughout our city and world.
